Michael was a chief mining engineer with Newmont Mining Corporation for 19 years but had to retire from the mines due to an ACL injury on his left foot during an underground mining exercise. He was advised by doctors to stay away from mining activities. He took time off the mines for 3 years to get back into full fitness, upon his return back to the mining sector he open up this small scale mining firm. He thought it was best to make great use of his links and connections in the mining field.
